For Judah, he proclaimed royal rule and the obedience of the nations; for Joseph, he declared God’s help and abundant blessing. Finally, Jacob commanded his sons to bury him in the cave of Machpelah in Canaan, then breathed his last and was gathered to his people.

This spiritual heritage teaches us to give thanks when we hear blessing, to respond with humility and repentance when we hear correction, and to walk faithfully in the calling God gives us.
