The angel shows John a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb. On each side of the river stands the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding fruit every month. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. There is no more night, and God's servants will reign forever and ever.
The river of life and the tree of life symbolize God's endless provision and healing. From Genesis where humanity lost the tree of life, to Revelation where it is opened to all again, God's plan of redemption is complete. This gives us hope and teaches us that God is the source of all life and goodness. As long as we trust Him, we receive eternal life and complete healing.
