Abram and his nephew Lot once lived together in a beautiful land. Later, Lot chose to move to the green valley near Sodom. One day, several bossy kings came to Lot’s town and took Lot and many other people far away. A messenger hurried to tell Abram what had happened. When Abram heard that Lot was in danger, he quickly gathered his helpers and first prayed to God, asking God to help him bring Lot safely home. At night, Abram and his helpers went bravely on their way. When the bossy kings saw them, they hurried away in fear. Abram found Lot, gave him a big hug, and brought everyone safely home. At the end, Abram thanked God, because he knew God was caring for the people He loved.
When Abram heard that Lot was in danger, he went to help right away. His courage did not come from thinking he was strong by himself, but from trusting God and praying to Him first. God helped Abram bring Lot and the others safely home. This story reminds us that when family or friends need help, we can bravely reach out, remember to seek God’s guidance first, and thank God for His care when the work is done.
