Adam and Eve's Choice

The cunning serpent tempted Eve to doubt God's word, telling her that she would not die if she ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but would instead become like God. Eve saw that the fruit was pleasing to the eye and good for food, so she picked it and ate it, then gave some to Adam. Their eyes were opened, and they realized they were naked, so they covered themselves with fig leaves. When God came into the garden, they hid because they were afraid. After God questioned them, Adam said that Eve had given him the fruit, and Eve said that the serpent had deceived her. God declared that the serpent would be punished and also promised that the woman's offspring would defeat the serpent; He also made garments of skin for Adam and Eve. In the end, they left the Garden of Eden carrying a sign that God still cared for them and a promise full of hope.
